Always more food...

Friday night, last post!
Promise!

We went up the street and around the corner to a place called La Coup de Torchon. We went there first several years ago with Graciela and Alain, and have been back several times since.

So! For starters, Mom had a wonderful onion soup. R had an avocado salad with shrimp (both large and small) as well as a slice of salmon in something like a 1000 Island dressing. I had a composed salad with potatoes, nuts, tomatoes, beets and other good things, with warm lardons (strips of bacon) on top – YUMMY! For mains, Mom had entrecote steak in a Roquefort sauce. R had breast of duck in a pepper sauce, and I had a chicken breast in Roquefort sauce. Everything came with wonderful puffy fried potatoes and green beans. We cleaned our plates! Then, to finish, R had a tarte of apple and rhubarb, and I had a pave of warm chocolate (something like a brownie) with warm chocolate sauce and a scoop of vanilla/nut ice cream…oh my…we will definitely be back to La Coup de Torchon!

Back around 9-ish and now heading to bed as we have an early day and a lot to do in the morning!

Love,

Margaret, I wish we knew where Diana Cheriez was now. I wish she could read your blog and see what an impact she had on our lives and how she instilled us with this love for France, French, and travel!
